The DLM Forum makes more progress in the last four months than the previous four years

Event: On 15th September 2009, the DLM Forum announced that Fabasoft had completed testing and gained certification for its EDRMS products. It also announced a Roadmap of updates and developments to make Moreq2 easier to adopt and test in future.

Analysis: With these developments, MoReq2 moves from academic interest to become relevant to future regulated information systems across Europe. It is not a panacea, and significant simplifications are needed, but there is every chance that MoReq-based purchasing specifications will be used for future compliance applications in Europe. If key Government departments and regulators embrace it, a market will be created that CM vendors must follow or risk losing government business for the wrong reasons.
